My Philosophy of Magic
I used to think magic was simply the art of deceiving the eye. But the longer I stay in this profession, the more I realize that magic is not about what I can do, but about what I can make people feel.
Technique is only a tool. A performance can be incredibly complex, but without a story, emotion, and meaning, it is still just a series of perfectly executed moves.
I don’t want people to remember where I hid a card or how I created an illusion. I want them to remember the feeling of wonder.
As we grow older, we become accustomed to explaining everything. Magic gives us a brief moment to put reason aside, become children again, and believe that there are still extraordinary things in this world.
To me, a magician doesn’t need to prove that real magic exists. What matters is making the audience wonder:
“What if magic really did exist?”
And if, after the performance ends, there is still a little curiosity, a little doubt, and a little sense of wonder left in their minds…
Then I believe magic has done its job.
